The kids are home from school. It is MLK Day. For Eddis, it is a busy at the store. In his words, "all those government workers want to spend money". Good for us!
A recap of the weekend. A Surprise 40th Birthday party, that was pulled off beautifully. It was fun, but we are old and left early. Eddis' back has been bothering him and I was still not feeling well from suffering from some kind of funky virus all week.
Eddis and I were watching SNL Saturday night, a commercial came on for Passages in Malibu. First of all, he joked that people probably think I am going there in 2 weeks because who REALLY has a friend named Barbi in Malibu area! In the commercial, they mention how 12 step programs don't really work long term....Eddis says, "how can they, you get to step 6 and forget what you did on step 1. He rolls over to go to sleep, of course, I continue to watch...they did a skit about a Bar Mitzvah, they had "Taylor Swift", sing to the "young man"; I have never seen someone with back issues, hop up, put his glasses on to see "Taylor". Only, to find out, it was NOT the "real Taylor".
Sunday, we had Nick's Lourdes Basketball game. It was a good game. They won by about 12, I didn't remember the final score. Nick had a good game, save the free throws (for some reason they bring him problems, he has to nail those), he had about 10 rebounds and about 8 points. All in all, it was a good game for him. If it wouldn't have been for those free throws he would have been double double.
That is it in a "nutshell".
