God Bless America!!!
We had a very rainy 4th of July in the Quads. It was a very lazy day. I spent the day watching "The Twilight Zone" marathon on the SiFi network. There is nothing better old black and white shows.
I didn't get much sleep the night before because a 16 year old hit Teddy's car around 11;30PM. After the police and tow truck finally left around 2am I couldn't sleep. I was running on about 3 hours of sleep because Mimi and Josie had to get up to be in the Bettendorf parade. About the time I was going to wake the girls the phone rings saying they were canceling their performance in the parade because of the rain.
The rain continued all day until around 4pm. I finally got ready to head to dinner at the club and watch the best fireworks in the country. YES, I have to say they are the best I have seen. Better than any town large or small. The best part, all the neighborhoods around the club are doing fireworks before and after the club's. It ends up being a wonderful show. I have been watching these fireworks my entire life and they just keep getting better.
Today is a lovely day. The guys are coming home from the lake. I am glad I didn't go because I would have been upset to have missed out on everything here. I am hoping we can work something out the years to come...where we are down there until the 4th and then are here for the 4th. With Nick playing Pony League next year...it may be an entirely different "ballgame".
I am glad to have my guys come home today. Only to have Eddis leave again on Thursday. I am glad the Merschman men have their little NASCAR trip. I just don't like him being gone so much.
