Why is that our generation has this tremendous need to feel thankful for what God has given us? Is it just the people that I choose to surround myself with or is something that is global with our generation?
I am so grateful and thankful for everything in my life. I seem to be reminded all the time how thankful I should be...
Just today, for instance, I am at Fareway (my favorite little market), as I get out of my SUV, there is gentleman, with a cane, walking in the snow covered parking lot, my first instinct is to ask if I can help him. He speaks first, "I just got back from California, and I had no reason to leave". He proceeds to tell me his predictions for the snow today, we already had about 1/2 of an inch, then, he goes to say, well, we will have ice and then more snow. While I was watching the noon news, you guessed it, the same forecast I got in the Fareway parking lot. So, I say to him, "well, why would you come back". This darling elderly man tells me, "I have to shovel my neighbors walks in the winter because they can't do it." Seriously, he looked like he needed someone to shovel his walks....what an inspiration. As he is getting in his car he tells me....I did leave my "house shoes" there, so I have to go back and get those.... What a darling, living angel. I might add....he did not park in a handicapped parking place!
I am so thankful for my health and my family, in reality, that is all we really need. Even though, last night I was beginning to think that Eddis wanted a "stepford" wife.
