I decided on a whim the week before Christmas to paint my laundry room. I saw this cool laundry on a blog I read and then started researching others. For all those that know me, my favorites colors are......PINK and GREEN! Yes, I was in high school during those infamous "preppy" 80's. I have worn Lilly Pulitzer my entire life. In high school, I was lucky enough to shop on Worth Avenue in West Palm Beach (the home of Lilly Pulitzer). So goes the history lesson!
My kitchen is and has been "granny smith green" for several years. My laundry is a room that must be walked through from the garage to get to the kitchen. So, may I present, the room that makes ME (I'm the only one doing laundry) very happy!
Notice...my "clean" laundry basket, ONLY...clean clothes so in there, as some family members know, I FREAK OUT, if anything dirty goes in there. I clean it with bleach water all the time. I use to just buy new ones, but I have so many "extra" baskets now, I simply use a little bleach water. The sink will be replaced by some nice cabinets and a new sink, I want cabinets all the way to the ceiling for additional storage. The other side of the room has cabinets and a counter, that will soon be replace with floor the ceiling lockers and cabinets!
This is my ceiling...I painted it free-hand and it was really fun. I love that I found those cool lampshades. My rug is the same design. It all came together so easily. I am going to paint the door going to the garage with chalkboard paint.
Looking into the kitchen. Very Lilly Pulitzer. The guys from the warehouse took my door off and that is ALL they did. The wood trim needs to be repaired.
So, this makes me happy everyday. I have been accused of "wearing the pants in the family", all I have to say about that, Eddis has a lot of responsibility at work, he doesn't want any when he walks into our home!
