Tuesday night, we had a moment in insanity and decided to have 10 kids spend the night with us at the VanSeveren's.  The kids had such a great time, they all got along really well and slept great. 

 

 

The kids swam and played video games the entire time. 

 

Eric is giving the kids "home schooling".  What do we need school for...we can home school from the pool.  Eric was asking trivia question...the kids were doing pretty well.

We had such a great time, no one wanted to leave.  We are now back to reality; snow falling and all. 

Calm The Fears...

Actually, it has been pretty funny all the emails I have gotten lately, asking if my blog will go private.  I honestly, do not know where that came from because I have never mentioned it before.  This blog WILL NOT---REPEAT---WILL NOT go private.  I enjoying other peoples blogs, many of which, I have never met and probably never will, so, I am keeping this blog public.  I enjoy all the emails I receive from people and love that I can give them entertainment.  I have had a private blog for almost a year and that is my little journal just for me...like an old fashion diary, without having to hide it between the mattress. 

Thank you for everyone's interest in our little world and I will continue as usual to write and post pictures of our boring but dysfunctional life.  I will still blog about our Florida trip because it is completely worth the read and I want to remember as much as possible.

We Are Home, At Least For A Month!

Well, we made it home.  It was a great trip and we are all exhausted and glad to be in comforts of our "real" home, as Mimi puts it.  It looks like we will either be back in Florida or in Texas for the bowl game.  (why do I want to write bowel?)  I have so many pictures and so many stories.  Hopefully, I can start that sometime tomorrow, in between basketball games, shopping, and visiting with friends.  As my BFF says, she just does not how I get it all done.  We are completely unpacked and I only have 2 loads of laundry because I kept it all up in Florida.  The house is clean...thank you to my wonderful Kimberly!!!!  Can't live without her and don't want to ever try.  I don't think my refrigerator has ever been that clean!

Hope everyone had a very blessed Thanksgiving.  I know we did.  More to come.....

Happy Thanksgiving....

Today is the day we give thanks to everything, our freedom, our lives, the list goes on.  I am thankful everyday of my life.  Thankful for the wonderful family God has given me.  The wonderful friends, my life in general.  I have a GREAT life and I know it.   Some people spend too much time complaining and unhappy they just cannot find the good in their lives.  I have always been the optimistic person, everyone can turn too.  I am ever so thankful for everything.  Yes, even the things that don't me happy but makes my family, oh, so very happy! 

We are heading home from our wonderful vacation in Florida.  Why do I love Florida so much?   That, my friends, must wait for another post when I don't have a plane to catch.  Enjoy, the holiday that allows us to give thanks, as I know I will be enjoying myself. 

Family Time & Hawks WIN!!!!

We have had the best family time.  We have laughed so much the past few days.  This is exactly the reason, I do not have a problem taking my kids out of school to spend time together as a family.  We have memories no one can ever take away and no amount of "book" work would ever come close.  This is what it is all about...a family being together as one and enjoying each others company.  We all have hard times, sometimes, we just have to take the family out of the house and get to know each other all over again. 

We went to a sports bar last night to watch our beloved Hawkeyes give the Golden Gophers an "ole fashion ass whoopin''", according to Eddis.  It was wonderful to see a 55-0 win!  Projections are, the Hawks will be back in Orlando for the Champ Bowl.  We already have reservations for Orlando. 

Today it is warmer and we plan to spend the day at the pool with the kids.  I am going to grab my book and relax with a fruity drink in my hand at all times.

As promised...FINALLY!!!

 

  Amy and I were being a little naughty here...we told Chris to stand in front of David...he knew exactly what we were doing...look at his face.  He said, "hi, Amy"...he even sang "Amy" once to her.  The next time we saw him he couldn't remember her name...we gave him so much grief I don't think he will ever forget now!

We just love his voice...he is wonderful and we wish him all the best of luck on his trek to stardom!

Florida Friday

 

This was Eddis' idea of a "REAL GOOD TIME"...  He put on his "walkin" shoes and got ready for a fun filled day of shopping.  This was the first stop...MaryElizabeth saying we needed to get our collars on...."flea collars".  Good one Amy, about the golf...they were filming some documentary outside our condo today...no golf for us.  Eddis of course, has been in rare form. 

After getting a few items at the flea market we could not live without...Teddy finally got the white belt he has been wanting...for 3 dolla..guess which one talked like that.

A day of shopping not complete without a trip to one of our favorite mall and having a late lunch at P.F. Changs.  MaryElizabeth's idea of eating with chop sticks...just spear it.

A story from P.F. Changs....

As anyone knows, Eddis can be very loud and obnoxious when he wants to be.  Well, today was no exception, he was actually in rare form, as I have mentioned earlier.  We are sitting eating our food and Eddis starts saying, loudly, "I haven't had....(counting on fingers..you all know)".  I look over and say, "you are being too loud, everyone is looking at us".  He continues, "I haven't had, gonorrhea in 6 months!".  At this point, I am eating a bite and nearly choke on my food.  I was laughing so hard I was crying.  What he really was counting is how many days it has been since he had a drink of alcohol.

After a long day of shopping, in which, I am happy to say no one went away empty handed, we are all tired and ready for a relaxing evening. 

Tomorrow

Eddis has exclaimed, "I need to get to bed early tonight so I am ready for tomorrow".

MaryElizabeth pipes in, "We need to get our collars on."

Florida...

Yes, we are here in sunny Florida.  I can't say it is all that warm, after talking to my friends at home, it is warm.   Apparently, there was snow at home today.  It is around 70 degrees but is going to be cooler the next couple of days.  It will start to warm on Sunday and we should be nice and comfy from then on. 

We are relaxing, Eddis has not moved except to run over to another resort and lunch.   Our resort is remodeling and the Pizza Hut is not open until 4pm, so my brilliant husband decides he will just go to another resort to buy Pizza Hut...only Eddis!!!!
