The BIG Question....

..do I blog, don't I blog?  You see, this is the problem.  Our Hawkeyes have been doing GREAT...no not just GREAT, but blessed!  We are truly "Livin' On A Prayer!  I have not blogged much this season, I am afraid not to do the EXACT same thing...do I wear my Uggs even though it is going to be 74 degrees on November 7, in Iowa?  I am not staying in the RV tonight because I haven't this year.  I am going to close with...good luck to my Hawkeyes...but please!!!!!please!!!! can we have a big uneventful win tomorrow...you are not going to have any fans left if you keep making our blood pressure rise!!!  Oh, and one more thing...if  Penn State could win tomorrow that would even make the smell of roses stronger!

I Am Back!!!!!!!!

We have had such a busy month, too much going on.  I took a class the last month and there was a lot of writing.  So, the last thing I wanted to do was write on my blog!

This is my favorite time of year, right now I have the smell of cinnamon and pumpkin in my house.  I am making ghost pumpkin bread for MaryElizabeth's class party tomorrow.  I am not the over-achiever that does an entire "lunch"....Lori, I don't know how you do it!

We have another Iowa football game this weekend...let's keep winning boys...I would love to be smelling roses on Jan. 1st!

Lastly, on this very short post...I had H1N1 last week.  I wanted to get it out there because I am on the mend and I want people to know that you can survive!

What A Crazy Few Days....

My life is so crazy right now, but that is just fine with me.  I haven't had time to blog, do laundry, etc.  Now, it is already Wednesday, and I need to get the RV ready for the Iowa game this weekend and next.

We took my parents to the lake this past weekend.  It was lovely.  They had a really nice time.  I do have some pictures, they are just no uploaded yet. 

Monday, I had some more X-Rays of my knee.  It seems it has gotten worse since July.  I am on a new medication for three weeks but it looks like a knee replacement will happen sometime in January.   I figure, the weather is going to be horrible anyway, I can just lay around and recover!  Maybe, even have a few of the ocean while I recover, why not?

Tuesday, I went to Chicago.  GOD!!!!  Do I LOVE that town.  It is so full of energy...I even commented on how there is an air of excitement just being there.  We are going back sometime in October....I want Eddis to go.

Today was spent trying to catch up on the last few days of craziness, I have to say, I have yet caught up!  Another doctors appointment this morning has left me sore and not looking so pretty. 

Comfort food is order for dinner tonight.  Eddis wants to go out for a little while....we will see...does anyone really want to see me!?

MaryLiz and Class Mass

I know I sound like a broken record; I love my kids Mass.  This week it was 3A..A.K.A, MaryLiz's class. 

This is MaryLiz's friend Caroline, she is moving back to St. Louis and we are all really sad.  Happy for the them to move back to their hometown but sad because they have been a fabulous asset to our community.

This is part of the skit they did for the Homily.  I love how the kids do skits...it helps tie the readings together and help the children to understand the word of the Lord.  This is Karlee, Casey, and Mimi. 

I Better Blog....

...before I get into trouble for NOT blogging!!!  

We have a busy week...which is not to say every week is not busy.  This is my view every morning....Annie cleans the kitchen for me after the kids are finished eating breakfast.

Annie in her seat...traveling to Iowa City for the game.  This has always been her chair. 

The Iowa games are always the highlight of our fall.  We have so much fun...

Ed's balls and wienies.  It all started during the Iowa/Iowa State game when our friend Heather kept saying she loved Ed's wienies.  Now, they are a must have for every game!

Tommy, the grill master....he makes GGGGGOOOODDDD food!

Austin, just couldn't wait for the microwave to be done, so he decided to melt his cheese the "old-fashioned" way!

Our annual Merschman picture.  This is not our favorite..but it is still really cute!!!!

Emma and MaryLiz playing football...see Lucy in the background...she was carried or walked all day...she was so exhausted she passed out on the cooler on the way home!  At one point, Herky stopped by and played football with the kids...didn't catch the action, of course, my window of picture opportunity slammed shut!

 

 

 

 

Halloween....

and fall my favorite time of year.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this time of year.  We are extra busy this year.  We have fall baseball for Nick, Mimi has dance, acting, and basketball.  She is one busy little girl.  It is good for her we are all happier when she is busy.  She falls asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow.  I NEVER hear..."I'm bored" anymore.  She simply doesn't have time!

For some reason, I am so happy this time of year.  Not that I am not normally happy, I am.  Eddis and I are heading to Dallas in a few weeks, he has meetings with his brother all day and I will go to the spa in the wonderful hotel and shop.  What a place to shop!  I am excited to get away for a few days.  We need a to get away together.  He is so busy and it is hard to even have a "normal" conversation about every day things.  Besides, it fall on our Anniversary!!!!  I don't want to be away from my husband on our anniversary. 

I have a busy day of getting ready for the game on Saturday.  I will spend the entire day making food for Saturday.  I love doing it!  Eddis will take the RV up tomorrow night with Nick, after the Assumption game.  Mimi has basketball shooting camp on Saturday morning and since she is not privy to the games unless her girl friends are there is has no interest in going.  She will spend the day with my parents, getting spoiled, I am sure!  Maybe, my mom can whip her into shape...she has been a tired and maybe, a little hormonal mess!!!!  I swear girls come out of the womb hormonal!  Eddis has not had dinner with the family in forever.  He is gone every night, Nicky even stayed up last night until he got home. 

Off to get some more Halloween things up and start cooking.....

Today, My Baby.....

got braces!  She did really well, they were shocked at how well she did.  They told her, they have older kids that aren't any where near as good as she was!!!  She smiled, and said, "ya, I know".

Here she is....more to come next week.  Poor thing, her teeth are so bad, it is going to be awhile before she has beautiful teeth!

 

 

She is in some pain tonight.  The spacers are really the only thing that is causing her pain. 

Fun Week...As Always

This week Nick's class did Mass.  As one of many "class clowns" Nick always seems to get the "leading" role in the skits.  This day was no different.  Most of my pictures are really blurry because I simply couldn't stop laughing.

Friday night took us to dinner with Nicky, he was the only one for Friday night.  We took a quick trip over to the tailgate.  Nick and Ted had "hunter safety course" all day Saturday, as well as, last Thursday night too.  Neither of them passed the test but it is good for them to have taken the class.  They cannot hunt alone without passing the class.  The class was in Illinois and the laws are different, they will take the one in Iowa and hopefully, they pass.  I don't want them hunting without their father, so they have a few years to pass.

Saturday brought a trifecta of tailgating...starting with Iowa/Iowa State, Michigan/Notre Dame and ending with Ohio State/USC.  The only game I was not happy with the outcome was Michigan.

 

 

If the game is not at Kinnick, we bring Kinnick to us!!!!  Fun was had by all...the kids were great...the dad's were great...and Heather and I couldn't stay away from Olde Towne Bakery!!!!

Hopefully, our black and gold will kick some red and gold today!!!  It is going to be a tough one!!!! 

We are heading to our friends house, Eddis is already there sipping a "bloody".  They moved their RV into their back yard and set up the tailgate.  It was hilarious!!!  Pictures to follow...
